Students desiring admission to Statesville Christian School must meet the following expectations:
Spiritual Expectations:
- The primary motive for enrollment shall be the desire for a Christian education.
- Parents shall express their agreement with SCS’s Summary of Values (see application and/or enrollment form).
- Parents shall express their support of our mission statement.
- At least one parent must be a Christian, professing faith in Christ as Lord and Savior. Church membership, regular attendance, and active involvement with a local congregation are expected and promoted.
Academic Expectations:
- Incoming students to Jr. Kindergarten and Kindergarten will be administered a school readiness test.
- Incoming students in grades one through twelve may be administered select sections of the Stanford Achievement Test and/or SCS developed screening/placement tests.
- Transferring High School students shall provide official transcripts (see back).
- School personnel will determine Statesville Christian School’s ability or inability to meet a student’s educational needs.
Social and Emotional Expectations:
- Children must reach their fourth birthday on or before October 16th to enter Junior kindergarten. Children must reach their fifth birthday on or before October 16th to enter kindergarten. The age of an enrolling student shall be typical of the designated class within one year.
- Incoming secondary school students must express their personal desire to transfer into a Christian educational atmosphere. Secondary school applicants need to be present at the interview with the Secondary Principal.
- SCS will not knowingly accept or maintain enrollment of a student with a history of discipline or emotional problems. Suspensions and/or expulsion from another school are sufficient reasons for acceptance to be denied.
- Admission to Statesville Christian School is to be considered a privilege, not a right. SCS reserves the right to dismiss any student who, in the opinion of the administration, does not maintain the standards of the school.

Transfer of Credit Policy:
All 9th through 12th grade students seeking admission to Statesville Christian School are required to complete a transcript request form. This form is to be signed, dated and delivered to the applicant’s present school. Continuation of the application process is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts which are current and up to date.
All transcripts, including those received from other ACSI-accredited schools, will be considered by the Admissions Committee. Statesville Christian School reserves the right to determine whether credits are accepted as requisite for the fulfillment of graduation requirements. All applicants must have maintained passing grades (70 or above) in core subjects. The following credits constitute the minimum for acceptance into that grade:
To be a sophomore (10th grade): 5 credits must be earned before the fall semester, one of which must be English.
To be a junior (11th grade): 12 credits must be earned before the fall semester, two of which must be English.
To be a senior (12th grade): 19 credits must be earned before the fall semester, three of which must be English.
Home school transcripts will be evaluated based upon equivalency to courses offered at SCS. Students may be tested to determine ability level for a particular course.
Official SCS transcripts will be released to other educational institutions as soon as
- a written request from the prospective institution is received
- all requisite coursework is completed and final grades to the date of the transcript request are completed
- any and all tuition fees, late fees, text replacement fees or other applicable fees are paid in full
