Each student is HIGHLY encouraged to take the SAT and/ or the ACT beginning in the spring of their Junior year. They should take it again the first time it's offered in the fall of their Senior year. (Mrs. McKay recommends taking it 2 times before the fall of your senior year if possible and again 1 or 2 times the fall of your senior year). 

 

Students can register online for the SAT at www.collegeboard.com 

and the ACT at www.act.org.

"Forensic Anthropology Summer Residential Science Camp"  July 11-16th Appalachian State University, Students between 15-18 years old, $600 Camp fee. Go to www.camps.appstate.edu for more information

 "Broadreach and Academic Treks" Summer adventures for teenagers include scuba, sailing, marine biology and wilderness programs.  Academic Treks offers unique and unparelleled college-accredited summer programs abroad for high school students that focus on marine science, language immersion, cultural studies and or community service.  Students earn up to 3 college credits and up to 55 hours of community service credit depending on the program.
