Dear SCS Families:
The SCRIP Program has served our school well for several years. We’ve made thousands of dollars in profits, and we hope 2011-2012 will be our most successful year yet!
For those newcomers who may not be aware of Scrip, this program is a simple plan that allows you to purchase gift cards weekly, and the merchants give SCS a portion of the card amount. The gift cards do not cost you any additional money and are spent like cash. For example, if you order a $25 Chili's Scrip card you will see on the order form 11%, which indicates the discount we receive. You will pay $25 for that card, SCS will only have to pay $22.25 to United Scrip, and SCS gets the difference in profit. Your card will have a full $25 for you to spend!
We have been able to purchase several things for our school over the past few years utilizing the profits from Scrip. We call Scrip a program, but it’s really a year-long fundraiser. It costs you no extra money. If you already shop at Wal-Mart or Food Lion for groceries or at Sheetz for gas, then we would make a profit from those retailers…IF you use a Scrip card! It just takes a little planning. There are two ways for you to place your Scrip orders: online and manually.
Online: Go to the http://www.scripzone.com to place your order. Send a check made out to "SCS PTF" with your child to school, and mark "Scrip" on the envelope.
Manually: Order forms will be sent home with the youngest child of each family in our Elementary school in their Friday folders. Students in Middle/High will receive an order form each Tuesday afternoon. A form will also be located on our SCS website.
Orders received each Monday morning by 9:00 am will be ready for delivery/pickup that following Wednesday afternoon.
