Statesville Christian School was established as a grassroots, independent, interdenominational Christian school in 1994. Our school essentially arose from the prayerful and passionate desire of parents who joined together to present our community with a Christian, college preparatory school that offers an excellent academic program within the framework of a Biblical Worldview.

Statesville Christian School was incorporated December 30, 1994 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution and classes began in the fall of 1995.  Today, SCS serves grades K-12 and is fully accredited by Cognia and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).  Our alums litter the college landscapes across the state and country, and college acceptance rates are truly blessed.

Today, SCS stands as a discipleship school that partners with parents in the academic, spiritual and physical training of the student.  This means that at least one parent must be a professing believer in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  The scriptures tell us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of all knowledge and wisdom.  It stands to reason that an education that excludes God is incomplete at best.  Therefore, SCS embraces every opportunity to incorporate scripture and Biblical truth into everything we do.  A phrase often uttered on our premises is that we are unashamedly Christian and it's a part of our very DNA!  This is a foundational part of our school and something beyond contestation.  All families are in agreement with this before a partnership with the family is forged.

Likewise, SCS also believes that the greatest teachers in the life of any child are mom and dad.  It is our desire to reinforce the teachings of the parents and to have the parents reinforce the teachings of SCS.  Some of the greatest learning that can take place happens around the dinner table following the question "What did you talk about at school today?".   It is the belief at SCS that education should be inclusive of parents to be truly effective.  The partnership between the home, the school, and the church forms the foundation and future of our unique school culture. Our school aspires to raise up Christian leaders who will engage our culture with positive responses to the pressing challenges which face our country and world.
